An essential principle of the training process that SAE provides is the availability of professional, industry standard equipment for its students. Each workstation is designed to hone specific skills with individual practical time. This includes dialogue editing, full 24 track mixdown with all necessary outboard gear, ProTools multi-track editing and MIDI workstations. Similarly our studios increase in sophistication from typical production room setup to the top of the range studio configuration found only in high end environments. We train on a wide variety of equipment as flexibility, adaptability and a solid understanding of common principles are key requirements for future success.
Equipped with a Neve VR multitrack recording console, ProTools HD2, Genelec full range monitoring and a wide selection of outboard gear by manufacturers such as SPL, TL Audio, Yamaha and TC electronics this studio is a comprehensive production room. Students use this studio to gain first hand experience of music production environments.

Based around a Digidesign / Focusrite Control|24 and a dual screen ProTools HD2 recording and editing system this room is equipped for music and post production applications. Recent additions to this studio include the Neve 8816 summing amp and TL Audio Dynamic & EQ processors. Monitoring is provided by a Blue Sky 5.1 surround system with bass management controller.

This studio is based around a Mackie 24:8:2, HR824 monitoring and a Protools LE recording and editing system. Complemented with a range of outboard gear from the likes of TC Electronic and Drawmer, it provides students with the initial training ground for understanding analogue signal flow concepts and recording processes. This studio is predominantly used for acoustic recording sessions with a great microphone selection including Shure, SE electronics and AKG microphones.

Situated within the practical area this setup consists of two Mackie d8B consoles coupled with outboard FX units. Students use this workstation to gain important first experiences with multitrack mixdown.

These workstations with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Logic Pro, Ableton Live! Propellerhead Reason, Cubase and the Native Instruments Komplete are available to students of the Audio Engineering Diploma Programme and Elecronic Music Production Certificate courses.
Students learn in depth features and professional use of these software packages.

This spacious open-plan area provides equipment for individual hands on training with workstations for mixdown workstations, ProTools LE (multitrack editing and mix) and MIDI assignments using Logic Audio, Ableton Live!, Reason and various softsynths.
