The BA (Hons) Multimedia Arts continues to build on the firm foundations provided by the Web Design + Development Diploma which is incorporated in this two-year degree programme. The second year can be taken as a progression degree following an HND-level qualification.

There are two ways to achieve this qualification:
- By enrolling in the full 27-month degree programme, commencing April and September. This options means that:
- UK students can access student loans through the LEA/SLC
- Students need to satisfy entry requirements for the degree (2 A-levels or equivalent)
- A place on the degree year is already reserved
- The programme is compact, without a gap between diploma and degree
- By enrolling for the Web Design + Development Diploma in April or September first, and joining the 'progression degree' afterwards. This option means that:
- The degree year commences August or January
- Student loans through LEA/SLC are not available
- Only entry requirements for the Diploma need to be satisifed (2 GCSEs or equiovalent). Progression to the degree is subject to a Diploma mark of 12.
The Degree level may be taken at any of SAE’s Degree Centres .
The programme - validated by Middlesex University - is concerned with the merging of technology and design, ethics and convergence, the psychology of multimedia, advanced use of multimedia software applications, interpreting and reacting to commercial briefs and business studies.
As with the Web Design + Development programme, there is an emphasis on both practical and theoretical study and students will be expected to be involved in both individual and group productions.
In addition to greater industry recognition, the degree has the advantage of providing graduates with a much wider range of career options. This qualification also enables students to proceed to Masters and Doctorates degree level qualifications.
