Advice for foreign students

SAE Institute London accepts foreign students. We regularly have students from all over the world coming to London to study Audio Engineering, Film Making, Web Design or Interactive Entertainment. The college has a multinational and multicultural atmosphere and thus reflects London as a truly international place. London is a fantastic place to study and students have a unique study environment in this world city.

Visa

Students from the EU do not need a study visa for the UK and can simply come here to study. EU students can also apply for student loans for our full degree programmes. Please see Finance for EU students.
Students from other countries will need a study visa. Please see UK Visas - Students for further details. SAE does not apply for a Visa on your behalf and cannot fill out your forms. Please note that in our experience the Home Office usually does not issue study visa for part-time courses, i.e. it is unlikely that study visa are issued for the Audio Engineering Diploma part-time or the Electronic Music Production Certificate. However, students regularly obtain study visa for the Audio Engineering Diploma fulltime, BA (Hons) Recording Arts degree, Web Design + Development Diploma, BA (Hons) Multimedia Arts, Digital Film Making Diploma, BA (Hons) Film Making and Interactive Entertainment Diploma.
In order to apply for a visa one would typically contact the UK embassy in their home country. It is best to start this process when applying for the course to SAE. Once the SAE registration fee has been paid and the applicant has been accepted on the course, we will issue a confirmation letter. This confirmation letter will be required for the visa application. If a visa application is unsuccessful, we will refund the registration fee minus an administration fee.
It is essential that applicants inform us about their progress of the visa application, especially if it has been declined.

Fees

The course fees we publish are the same for UK, EU and international students. However, only UK and EU students are given the option of paying by instalments. Non-UK/EU students are required to pay the full course fee in advance. However, this results in a discount for advance payment. The full fees are due one month prior to course start.
Fee payments (i.e. the registration fee and course fees) can be made from overseas via bank transfer. Our bank details are published in our information pack.
