Digital Film Making diploma


The Digital Film Making course is designed for a new generation of upcoming filmmakers who want to combine classical background knowledge (including camera operation, lighting, editing, compositing, storyboarding etc.) with professional, up to date digital technology such as digital non-linear editing as well as compositing and visual effects.

Practical film training


The curriculum of the Digital Film Making programme takes the student through the entire filmmaking process and is highly practical in nature. Each student will be expected to write, produce, direct, and edit a number of projects before finally screening them to an audience. Students will make use of a wide variety of digital technology including high end nonlinear editing workstations such as Final Cut Pro and Avid; become proficient at operating DV cameras, tripods, and professional lighting systems. Understanding movies


Emphasis is also placed on the ability to engage in constructive discussion and offer critical analysis of different film styles and techniques. Students are encouraged to develop a high level of insight and understanding into the film industry and the practical implementation of Digital Film technology. Students will learn techniques for directing location recordings, working with actors, planning practical project logistics, and film budgeting. Throughout the Digital Film Production course, students will be involved in producing a variety of projects such as documentaries, music videos, and short films.

Visual effects, 3D & Compositing


Students will also discover Special FX and 3D compositing techniques used to create cutting edge visuals. Students will generate 3D objects and learn to composite them into live action footage using compositing software such as Apple’s Shake and Discreet's Combustion in order to be prepared for the Visual Effects industry Footage is shot using SAE London's Green Screen studioChromaKeyBannner

Delivery formats


Students will learn to create professional quality DVD discs that will contain their own work for self-promotion. Students will learn how to author interactive DVD’s for a variety of functions. In addition to DVD authoring, students will also learn how to deliver their finished projects in professional broadcast formats, as well as, for broadband Internet delivery. This allows students to deliver their projects to the widest audience possible when promoting themselves in the industry.
