This is an overview over some of the topics covered in Electronic Music Production.
During the opening stages of the programme, students are given enough of an introduction to audio theory to demystify terminology and concepts which will be expanded upon later on in the course.
This section covers rudimentary theory and the practical application of common studio equipment including simple analogue and digital mixers, effects and dynamic range processors, microphones and loudspeakers.
Examines basic sampling theory but concentrates more on the practical aspects of industry-standard MIDI equipment, software and samplers. Students create music using Propellerheads Reason, Abelton Live! and Apple Logic Pro. The use of this sort of equipment forms the core focus of the Electronic Music Production Certificate.
Students who successfully progress through the earlier stages of the course are taught the use of hard disk recording.
