Neve VR Legend Studio
The Neve VR Legend installed in studio 1 Glasgow features one of the worlds finest audiophile recording consoles, to complement this we have installed a range of hand picked high end outboard fx and sound processing equipment. The studio offers students the opportunity to work with a Studer A-820 24 track analogue tape recorder or a Mackie digital HDR 24 hard disk recording system. Get the best of both by syncing them together for 48-track capability.
ICON ES D-Control Studio
The latest addition to our facility is the new Digidesign D-Control, Icon ES console. Situated in studio 4, This 32 fader version offers students the chance to work on the cutting edge of new technology with the added advantage of mixing in 5.1 surround sound. The studio is coupled to a very spacious air conditioned live recording room.
Pro Control Studio
Studio 2 features an expanded Pro control console with edit pack and 5.1 surround sound. A powerful Digidesign TDM sysyem provides the power behind this state of the art facility. Four split screen LED displays allow everything in your work session to be displayed simultaneously thus avoiding the usual desktop clutter experienced on a single screen. The control room has a dedicated air conditioned studio live room with ample space provided for musicians.
O2R Studio
Studio 3 features an all digital room used mainly for smaller scale recording projects such as dialogue replacement, sound restoration, foley projects and mastering.
Soundtracs Solitaire
The Soundtracs Solitaire console provides an excellent introduction to large format recording, mixing consoles.Used primarily as a signal flow teaching tool and 24-track mixdown station, students can get advanced tuition before using the main studios. The console features computer assisted moving fader automation, dynamic processing and is complemented with a full rack of outboard FX and processing equipment from all the top brand names.
The upper level at SAE Glasgow provides ample computer workstations that are used to work on smaller projects such as MIDI sequencing, audio editing,and general practice when learning to operate new software. There is also a broadband internet facility available at all work stations.
The upper level also offers a student sitting area as well as a 50 inch plasma TV used for showing students projects and to advertise any exclusive student deals on offer from our many industry partners.
4 teaching classrooms used for audio, film, EMP and graphic design courses are on the first floor. 2 digital film making fully featured edit suites and refreshment facilities are also available.
Pictured above is one of two identical film studios featuring high definition editing on Final cut pro.
As well as a range of professional film making equipment including Hi Def cameras there is a green screen facility used to capture raw footage for editing and compositing into other background material.
