Antares Autotune & BFD Guest Lecture

Today our students attended a lecture focusing on the features found in BFD as well as Antares Autotune. Tom Carter, a software specialist and trainer from Sonic 8 distribution, demonstrated key features in the latest versions of BFD , Antares Autotune as well as other Antares plug-ins available. Students had the opportunity to get questions answered as well as viewing and hearing various applications of the software. BFD as well as Autotune are part of the packages that students are able to train on within the Liverpool facilities.

4 Generations of SAE Students at the Cannes Film Festival

SAE film making students with lecturer Carl Schoenfeld at the 2008 Cannes Film FestivalEven Le Monde can't define it, calling it at once 'commercial showcase, global media forum, and champion of artistic confrontation.' This year, four generations of SAE film making students travelled to the Festival de Cannes, writing articles as well as coursework, interviewing A-list filmmakers that were shunning the worldwide press (yes, Spike Lee) and shooting a short film right then and there after successfully pitching in the Facebook-sponsored Theauteurs.com competition. And, of course, SAE alumni invaded the Palais du Festival hunting for partners to join their next projects. As one of the students commented: "My ten days in Cannes turned out to be one of the most significant experiences of my life"

Liverpool voted most musical city in England

Liverpool has surged to victory in Arts Council England's 'Take it away' search to find the UK's Most Musical City. Liverpool beat ten cities to be named the most musical city in England in an Art Council on-line poll. Liverpool Culture Company music manager Gordon Ross said: "The city today has a phenomenal pool of talent."

Visit us at the Sound Recording & Technology Show

SAE stand at the Musikmesse 2007Between Thursday 12th June and Sunday 15th June SAE Institute will exhibit at the Sound Recording & Technology Show as part of the London International Music Show held at ExCel, Docklands. Visit us at stand F16 to find out about our courses and ask questions. We will also hold seminars on our stand with topics ranging from Compression, Logic Hyperedit, to Ardour and Online Education. Whilst on our stand - why not check out the Neve Genesys console ? AMS Neve share the stand with us and inform about their studio equipment, featuring the legendary Neve sound.

Third SAE Night: Bands, Guitar Heroes and Prizes

SAE Night at Dublin Castle, LondonIn April the third SAE Night in London took place. This time Dublin Castle in Camden was the venue. Once again several student bands took to the stage and rocked the audience. Rock was also the theme with our Guitar Hero torunament taking place in between bands. Another new feature was a raffle with prizes including equipment from Novation and Apple and subscriptions from MusicTech Magazine and Total Film.
