SAE and Panasonic have signed a cooperation agreement for any future delivery of AG-HVX200 P2 MiniCam HD Camcorders to SAE Institutes worldwide.

Real High Definition video and film training programmes at SAE Institute

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands (July, 2006) – The SAE Institute, the world leader in professional audio, film and multimedia education, has decided to purchase the Panasonic P2 MiniCam HD Camcorder, AG-HVX200 for their worldwide video and film training centres.

SAE Institutes are fully equipped with all studio facilities and computer software necessary to complete digital film projects. Through SAE's film programs students learn the latest technology and creative confidence and independence necessary for effective pre-production, production, and post-production. This is an advanced level program covering all technical aspects of equipment operation and the 'creative' side of film/ video production. It’s therefore SAE has decided to be ahead in this challenging market and provides real HD equipment and training programmes to their students.

Offering flexibility and versatility never before available to video professionals, the AGHVX200 provides 1080i and 720p recording with DVCPRO HD quality. The AG-HVX200 records onto a P2 card in 1080/50i, 25p, 720/50p and 25p, and 576/50i/25p at DVCPRO50, DVCPRO or DV compression modes.

The AG-HVX200 inherits many of the functions of the award winning AJ-HDC27 Varicam, including exceptional DVCPRO HD quality images, variable frame rates and a cine-like gamma curve. In addition, the AG-HVX200 has a Mini-DV tape recorder and down conversion capability that allows productions to shoot 720p VFR recording on P2 cards and down-convert to 576 recording onto DV tape. Once an ‘off-speed’ scene is on DV tape, productions can be edited on any DV NLE software, which is a tremendous benefit for all DV film makers.

The most popular HD format on the market is 1080/50i. The AG-HVX200 allows productions to shoot 1080/50i or 25p (progressive mode) and enjoy 1080/50i or 25p editing with existing Avid, Apple, or Canopus NLE systems. Producers and Broadcasters in the European regions have access to 720/25p, including VFR and 720/50p recording capabilities offering great versatility in shooting options. P2 has been co-developed with Panasonic’s Partners in order to offer several options for future workflows.
