Why SAE ?

Choices

The choice of education options has become quite confusing for any aspiring sound engineer. 15 years ago it was relatively simple: SAE or classical internship/tea boy career. Over those past years, however, numerous options have come up: countless universities/colleges are offering "music technology" courses and many start ups have been inspired by SAE's concept, some even by former SAE employees.
To some extent we feel flattered by these developments. They confirm that our concept is certainly right. SAE also has become the synonym for audio engineering education as can be seen all over the internet.

No risk

From the prospective student's point of view, however, it is important to see behind the advertising façade. Unlike most of the aforementioned alternative offerings, SAE has been providing audio education continuously and expansively for more than 30 years and is far from being an experimental or fragile organisation but is rather backed by a unique organisational and financial stability. For our students this means that there is a guarantee for their education provider to complete the delivery of the course they enrolled for and for the institution to be around for years to follow after graduation – another important factor with private qualifications. One's education is one of the most important decisions made in life. It is not an area to experiment and it is vital to consider their track record when choosing an education provider.

Track record of degree courses

Another trend for inspiration has been the increase in private audio qualifications validated by Universities. This is great news for students – as private/public partnerships have a great advantage. Once more there is a difference between SAE and other providers who have started experimenting with validated degrees: SAE Institute has been in a collaborative partnership with Middlesex University for 10 years. The first intake of the validated BA (Hons) Recording Arts commenced in 1998. Over these 10 years the partnership between SAE and the University has flourished and has reinforced its professionalism. The latest pinnacle in our partnership is our joint status as Skillset Media Academy.

To summarise, there is only one audio education provider that has:
